OK, I’m gonna let you in on one of the EASIEST ways to create your first product – Audio Interviews! And they’re a great way to create products in more ways than one!! You get to meet new people, potential JV partners, and plus you get some great tips and techniques on what is working for the pros!
MOST marketers, depending on schedule, find it hard to resist being interviewed. Call it an ego thing 
Go and download Skype, get a mic, a headset and download ‘audacity’ from sourceforge:

Use audacity to record the skype interview.
And the best part, after you’ve interviewed them, you can ask them to promote that product for you
too! A great way to get in to the JV partnership side of things as well. Basically you want to get your name out there, so either way this is a win win situation. You get the goods and they know your name. Sure your doing the interview about someone else, but people are also going to recognize the interviewee too Hmm interviewee…is that a word? Well you know what I mean anyways So go for it! Now is NOT the time to be shy guys and gals. No, nows the time to make money. And sometimes to make your dreams come true you have to come out of your comfort zone.

The idea of interviewing “authorities” in a given field is great. You’re right, who could resist being interviewed and having there name promoted for a few minutes of there time.
The getting out of your comfort zone really hits home, as even though I wouldn’t consider myself to be shy, I generally wouldn’t go out and solicit something like this.
So now that is one of my goals for this course, to break out of my comfort zone

Hey Chelsea – Thats some great advice and exactly what I have done. I have over an hours worth of content interviewing another marketer using skype and audacity. The beauty of this is you have an audio product, plus you can get it transcribed, creating an ebook. One to give away and one to use as an upsell

Excellent blog post and idea about JV interviews. Just a quick suggestion, when everyone finishes Alex’s Coaching Course, you could interview everyone of us as your first guide. You could alternatively divide us up into different niches and have literally numerous of different ebooks all based upon this idea.
And since there is 500 of us students on the course, thats like insantly 500 JV partners all promoting your guide for you – you’ll be the richest person out of everyone in the class and that doesn’t even include interviewing Alex, Mike Filsaime, Rich Schrefen, Michael Cheney, J Fox, Dr Cohen, Sara Brown, Tony Shepherd, etc…just to name a few. Your idea definately has the most potential and I think, since you suggested the idea, you should put yourself forward to be the one who does it.

I am trying to list as many of Alex’s students as I can in my blogroll and will have you up there shortly.
Your suggestion for using Skype for interviews is great the only drawback I can think of is getting the persons skype contact name or phone number.

Richard – I would try to find their mailing address. Then I would snail mail a nice letter to them about the interview. Then ask them to email me with a good time and phone details. You could also make a personal video of yourself talking about doing the interview with them. Make it Jetsons style like you are talking to them on a video phone. A good strategy might be to do both.
